Phone Insurance - Blackberry Torch?

I stood on my phone and the screen is smashed (not bleeding or anything just cracked and the carphone warehouse want �170 to repair it. If I take out insurance with betterbuy insurance. Would I be able to claim for the phone with this policy. Even though it is already broken, if i just phoned them two weeks down the line would they repair it?
